Mom, Councilwoman, Small Business Owner, and Prosecutor, Suzie Aramesh Price was raised by a single mother. Born in North Carolina, Suzie lived in Iran until she was 7 years old, when Suzie and her mother immigrated to Southern California. Like so many others, she and her mother were looking for freedom and opportunity.

She learned how to speak English as she completed her primary education and went on to obtain a BA and MA in Public Policy and Administration from CSULB. She earned her JD from Santa Clara Law School in 1999. Her mother worked as a nurse in a public school setting for 40 years.

Suzie and her husband Mark, a military veteran, have lived in Long Beach for 20 years where they are raising their two boys. They are small business owners in Long Beach, and like everyone, trying to bounce back from the pandemic.

While interning in law school, Suzie helped a young rape victim obtain justice, and through that experience found her calling. Suzie has been a victims’ rights advocate and prosecutor for over 20 years, seeking a voice for those who have been victimized by crime.

Actively involved in her PTA, Suzie and other local parents wanted a crosswalk in their neighborhood. Unable to get a satisfactory response from City Hall, Suzie decided to run for City Council and won. Yes, she built that crosswalk, and many others.

On the City Council, Suzie has worked across district lines to focus on homelessness, public safety, street repair, infrastructure investment, improving and expanding our green spaces, and ensuring Long Beach remains a place where you can afford to buy a home and start a business. Suzie’s back-to-basics agenda is focused on improving the quality of life for everyone no matter what neighborhood they live in.

At a time when politicians are focused on partisanship, ideology and big promises, Suzie believes that having a competent and functional city government is necessary to address the challenges Long Beach faces and to create real change for its residents.

Elected in 2014 and re-elected in 2018, Councilwoman Price has been able to consistently receive broad support by working across the aisle to achieve results in City Hall. As a result, Suzie won both of her council elections outright with 55% in her first election and a staggering 78% of the overall vote for her re-elect.

As a small business owner and mom, Suzie has built an ironclad reputation as a strong advocate for policies that foster full participation of women in Long Beach’s economy. From the availability, accessibility, of family planning, child care, elder care policies, to ensuring harassment free workplaces. Long Beach is ready for a woman Mayor who will foster meaningful coalitions and look past partisanship and ideology by leading a competent and functional city government that’s focused on achieving results and addressing the real challenges Long Beach residents face.

On the City Council, Suzie serves as Chair of the Port, Transportation and Infrastructure Committee, Vice-Chair of the City of Long Beach Public Safety Committee, Chair of the Los Cerritos Wetlands Authority, Chair of the Alameda Corridor Transportation Authority, and a member of the Long Beach Budget Oversight Committee. She is also an honorary board member for Musical Theatre West, the Women’s Shelter of Long Beach and an advisory member of the Ronald McDonald House.
